Secretary of Defense-nominee Pete Helgseth is a Fox News host with a long career in the army and several honors, including two Bronze Stars. His Jerusalem Cross tattoo has several connotations, including use in the Crusades. The original meaning is most likely a reference to the cross of Christ, surrounded by four smaller crosses representing Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the four evangelists for whom the Gospels are named, or to the Five Wounds of Jesus.
